I was lucky to have a doctor who really listened to me and made me realise how hard i had been working to compensate for my adhd, which made me recognise why i always felt so tired. My titration pharmacist was really responsive and communicated well. i felt really looked after and like decisions were made with me not for me.

I was referred to this service through the Right to Choose route as the local NHS service was unable to assist for several years. The whole process from referral to the end of titration was just over a year. I was kept informed throughout. The longest wait was between diagnosis to titration (6-months). The titration process was smooth and the portal platform used on PUK is user friendly. The prescriber was so great to work with, friendly and responsive. Glad I was able to use this service.

My daughter has been diagnosed privately with ADHD and ASD. We had a very good experience, with our consultant who started my daughter on ADHD medication. We have been signed to titration process, and again we had a very good experience with our nurse. We could get in touch any time and our nurse always answered back within couple of hours. I would definitely recommend the service.

I've previously had two ADHD referrals from my NHS GPs to different organisations who never got back to me after years without a single phonecall, letter, email or text. Whilst the waiting list for Psychiatry UK was considerable, I felt they actually cared about their standard of care given. I was provided updates throughout the process and it made such a difference for them to manage my expectations of when my case was likely to be reviewed. The Psychiatrist I spoke to was professional, empathetic, and patient. It was one of the few times I had spoken to someone about my suspected diagnosis and felt as though they were genuinely engaged with providing me with support. They clearly explained my next steps in terms of the titration process, including signposting additional resources available to me until then. The pharmacist in charge of my titration was polite, informative, and incredibly responsive with weekly updates and ongoing queries. I felt that my feedback regarding symptoms and side effects was given due consideration when managing my doseage.

Was initially diagnosed by Yann Welton who is no longer with Psychiatry UK i felt really heard and after a couple of consultations I was diagnosed as Combined type and he advised to start on Methylphenidate. I reached the top of titration list a few months early due to shortages in other medications and I had Mike Proctor as my Prescriber who has been more than fantastic, he was always there to answer questions and make sure I was safe too as I had a couple of bouts of High heart rate, however this subsided and found my perfect dose way quicker than I was expecting, its been life changing for me to finally get this diagnosis after my home, work and just all life has suffered for so long as a result of my undiagnosed ADHD.

The first initial meeting I had with my doctor was very stressful for me. Even though I had done A LOT of research on ADHD and had a massive note page on my phone of symptoms I had both as a kid and now as an adult, I froze during the meeting. It didn’t exactly help when the doctor kept pushing me to talk by saying things like “go on then what else?”. I didn’t even know where to start, but I had to initiate the conversation, which was very difficult for me. So I started talking, a few sentences in, she interrupted me saying “*patient name*… you haven’t even mentioned anything from your childhood”. I didn’t know I was supposed to start with that. So I ended up just reading everything on my list. I left the meeting feeling empty and as if I wouldn’t be taken seriously. The next meeting I had I didn’t know what we would talk about, but a few minutes in she gave me an ADHD diagnosis. I felt very emotional, both because I was so relieved that all my struggles are for a reason, but also because of the first meeting, I just felt like she gave me one to get it over with. I’m stuck with a feeling of being given an ADHD diagnosis at random, just because of the first meeting feeling so rushed and quite unpleasant. However, I’m still happy with the service overall. The communication between sessions from the admin team is great, I feel like my information is in safe hands and I’m greatful for being taken seriously after a diagnosis.
